Mr. Plow
Posted by: Claire
So, I was jogging on the Valley Trail between Green Lake and Highway 99 in shin deep snow this morning. If you've never tried to run in snow before, it's a little like sand except colder and wetter and it can also be slippery at times. Anyway, as if what I was doing wasn't hazardous enough, something else stopped me dead in my tracks. Here comes Mr. Plow with the hugest dirty-snow-mixed-with-gravel rooster tail I've ever seen heading straight for me. I thought, "oh man, this is gonna suck". I even thought the wave of debris he was clearing from the highway may blast me down the bank into the lake! For a split second, I thought about turning and sprinting the other way but he would for sure catch me so that was out of the question. My options were next to none so I just stared and kind of laughed at my situation. But you know what Mr. Plow did? At the very last second, I see him lift his plow, wave and laugh. HaHa. Very funny, Mr. Plow! Lets just say I spent the rest of my run looking over my shoulder.........Happy New Year.
