CIAO

Thats how you say HI in Swiss.
Last weekend I went to Swiss for the MUBA Jam, a skateparkcomp in Basel.
My friend and SRAM Teammate Hendrik Tafel Ice T came from Hamburg to Berlin and we drove nine hours to Basel. On the way we stopped in Nuernberg, a city you maybe remember from the District Ride.
At first when I heard from the MUBA Jam, I got a drawing how the skatepark is gone look like. It had a huge curved wallride, a nice jump box with hips and a miniramp with spine. In the end everything changed.
The exhibition in Basel gave less money than expected so the park changed a bit.
The park was still fun to play around. Now there was a big wallride, a jumpbox with a hip and the tallest spine I have ever seen. God damn this thing was sobig. No one jumped it not even the BMX guys.
Oh yeah another weird thing because during the competition BMX and MTB was together. Sucks but what ever, we tried our best.
In the end I came third behind the two guys on the kidsbikes. I was happy with my run doing 360 taps over the spine, doing wallride to barspin and my first tailwhip in a comp. Ice T came fourth with the biggest airs over the whole weekend.

After riding all day we decided to check out a bit the nightlife in Basel. We started with a big cheeseburger for dinner and after we went to a poolhall. No really what I expected but it was kind of cool. I met a friend from England there I used to ride with in Whistler during Crankworx. Ciao John! After playing pool I was a bit bored so I played with those massive plastic guns for a while.
We all decided to leave the place and party a bit. Oh yeah! We drunk beers, danced with the chicks and the night was saved. A good party with a lot of fun.
After driving 20 hours, riding maybe not the best park, the whole trip was dope. Thanks to David for the place to stay and the organization. Thanks to Hendrik talking to me during the long drive and giving me your MP3 player.
