THE MUDDY OTTER

Sea otter 2006 PART 1

Due to Ross hating me using his computer for longer periods of time, I
haven't been on top of the news updates….So i'm very sorry. On the
better sides of things the trip has been super wicked awesome, besides
the weather. Lately we have been running into rain everywhere. I think
it's because of Ross and him being way up there in the atmosphere, the
clouds just get tangled around his tall figure and get dragged along
with us. Well besides the weather factor being not all that great we
have still managed to bang off some sick shots.
I started off on the island of course so you know I had to take the
ferry across to Vancouver. If you didn't already know, one of the BC
Ferries sank about too weeks ago…. So to keep my mind off sinking to
the bottom of the Pacific Ocean I took pictures of my ipod on my lap.
Fun stuff…soo that was phase one of the sea otter trip, basically
getting across the water without sinking. And guess who was on the
other side waiting to pick me up on the other side? ROSS "THE GIROSS"
MEASURES! Of course he was at least 10 minuets late but, he hadn't
have been so late we wouldn't have seen this. We roll up to Giross's
habitat around 3:00 and game for the rest of the night. Check out my
character I made in Tony Hawk. Its all about the pink. Early the next
morning the B Labs van arrives at around 7:00 and we roll out of the
country with out any major delays.
First stop, pick up Carlo in Seattle.
Second stop Trill Zone. Basically it was a warm up sesh for the
trip. We just rode around a bunch and got our legs stretched for the
drive down to Portland.
Next stop was in Salem. We went to check out the jumps that Cam
Zink and Paul B rode in Disorder 5, but they weren't in riding
condition so we left to an indoor park. The park was a good time, lots
of bangers. We were all deffinently killing it out there I guess.
Super fun place.

Im listening to SAND STORM right now so hold on I gotta get it
poppin for a second….

Ok, after we rode that Salem indoor. We drove for a flippin long time.
And took like the most craziest roads you can take. Harookz just
pinned it the whole time around 30mph corners going at least 65mph
into all of them. All I can say is we where pinning it for sure.
Im going to end PART 1 here for now cuz im nearing some dirt jumps
and I wanna ride.

Sea Otter 2006 PART 2

Ok. So after Harookz pins it to Redding, Tyler takes over the next
driving shift to Sacramento. Where we stopped at Burger King or some
place like that. Tyler was super stoked to eat fast food as you can
see. After that we all felt like fatties so we went to the gas station
stocked up on candy and energy drinks and carried on our way.
Arriving in San Francisco around about 1:30 myself, ross, and geoff
decide its not late enough to go to bed so we Internet till 4:00am.
Getting up rather early we go scouting San Fran and find absolutely no
street to ride at all. What we did find was a city bus graveyard that
we had a lifestyle photo shoot in due to Harookz's Smooth taking to
the guard.
After San fran we cruise down to Sea otter get our hotel drink a
few brews and hit the beds. The effects of Sram ride camp stickers.
Geoff wasn't feeling himself so he slammed a whole bottle of Nyquil,
Next day we go to check out the Sea Otter grounds and hangout for a
bit. We had to put up posters for me and jordies comp jordie is
hosting at his house called the "ICECRAME COMP" scheduled April 22nd.
Let me tell you that Cali is deffinently not all that sweet, it rained
about 60% of the time that we where there. Practice for the dirt comp
was amazing, case after case everybody was absolutely having a blast
casing there bikes…..As the time for qualifying came around the jumps
were semi dialed and you could actually make it threw them. Since I
wasn't really on the rider list I sorta had to sneak my way into the
comp due to I didn't practice the first 2 days. Anyways I thought I
rode pretty good at least even though I didn't qualify. Sorta grade
that I didn't since during finals on Sunday it was pissing rain. Turns
out super booster Timo Pritzel won the deal with a run consisting of:
step down b flip, second jump I foot table, third jump 360. Me
personally I though qualifying was way better to watch.
Basically now we are in the Portland area trying to find bikes,
but they got sent back east….So that really sucks. Anyways yea back to
home and school…I hate school not awesome, but yea its cool.
