DIstrict Ride Catania

Last weekend the 32 sickest craziest Mountainbike Riders from all over the world met in Catania/Italy to compete at the Red Bull District Ride. As far I can see the contest was a great success and everyone seemed to be pretty stoked. I was lucky that I made my way in to the finals which was only the top 10. It was good we had one qualifying run saturday afternoon and the second one on sunday morning. The conditions were pretty tough cause Italy is hot. Already at 8 in the morning it was to hot to ride.
Sunday afternoon was the big showdown and the level of riding is progressing so much rightnow.
The first District were three drops and one had a little kick. It just needed some one like Timo to pull a backflip of a 15 feet drop. It was ridiculous and I am sure you gone see some footage soon.
I tried my best and finished 8th. Its a good place concerning the overall results after nuernberg.
Paul Bas one this thing without a question followed by Andrewo Lacondequy and Lance McDermott.
Rightnow I am in Vancouver/Canada but it took me a little while to get here. Let me start with the District Ride Party in Catania on sunday. Tarek arranged a club at the beach for the party but it took us some time to get the party started. After we got some free alkoholic drinks all worked out and the party was on. All I remember that I left the party at five am to get my stuff and than drove straight to the airport. That was definitely not the best experience to fly drunk and beeing super tired. I am glad I landed in Berlin with all my stuff and I did not get lost. In Berlin I repacked my bags, charged all the entertainment equitment and drove back to the airport tuesday morning. I flew to Munich to meet Joscha and than jumped rightaway on the plain to Vancouver. Thanks Ross for picking me up at the airport!
