Motivation

I recieved a phone call from one of my favorite people the other day. Bobby McMullen. He is truly an inspiration for us all. For those of you who dont know of him, he is a blind downhill mountain biker. He rides downhill with a leader shouting out directions of the track that lays before him. If you get to know him, he will literally put his life in your hands. Quite ridiculous if you ask me, but he will let any qualified rider guide him down A-line or whatever trail he desires. One word, Amazing. Since meeting him, his drive to not only ride his bike, but do it so incredibly is one of the most remarkable things I have ever seen. It gives me motivation to try to put as much heart into the things I do as he does with his day to day life.
He called me the other day just to say, hi, and congratulate me on my new deal with Felt Bicycles. I was actually having a bad day until he was there to put a smile on my face. The last thing the guy wants is any pitty, but his attitude toward life and everything he knows is the most incredibly happy and greatful of any person I have ever met. It makes you appreciate all the things we take for granted, like something we think we need so desperately, like vision. Bobby doesnt have that, and I guarantee he is smiling at this very moment....
