london bridge is falling down

london QUC

The course was pretty straight forward. Small drop. Long and low jump, a box jump, two wood kickers to dirt landings. and then a quarter to wallride to finish it off. My knee was feeling pretty crappy for the the first day of practice but on finals day it started feeling a bit better so I could do some tricks. I still had to keep it pretty mellow though because a crash or a foot down could really cost me. I ended up getting 13th in the qualifier by 1 point, which meant that I missed the finals because they only take the top 12. There was another practice in between qualifying and finals for the riders who made it. So I went back to my room made a couple e-mails and dropped off most of my pads at the hotel. I cruised back over to the event and I missed the first runs so I was kinda bummed cause I wanted to see the whole contest. I looked around real quick and noticed that Andreau wasn't riding, even though he had qualified. I went over and asked him what was up and he said it was to windy and that he didn't wanna ride. So for me that was good news. I was the first runner up to qualify so I was in!!!? whoa...I went over and talked with the organizers and they told me that I will have missed my first run but I can still take the last two and give it a go. The format is best two out of three so I couldn't make a mistake. So I put on my helmet and my knee brace and went to the top. I ended 9th. I was stoked because I really just wanted some points for the overall. I ended up 7th in the standings and I am stoked. I was hoping for better this year but what can you do when injuries plague you. At least I bettered my standings from last year's 13th overall. Funny thing happened at the BBQ after the contest... I was eating my chicken burger when someone pointed out o me that it was almost completely uncooked. So I decided I had to go try and puke it all out so I didn't get sick from food poisoning. Well after puking, I went back to my hotel and ate some lucky charms for dinner. when I got on the flight the next morning I felt a little sick but didn't think anything of it. Now I am down for the count at my house. Pretty lame. Anyways, next up is Leogang 26 trix. Should be fun. See you there.
