Motorcycle license complete
Posted by: Cam
I will post pictures after the trip is over, but I cant tell you much until its all over.
So, I am going on a trip on the east coast that involves riding Harleys. I had to get my motorcycle license to take part and it has been one hell of a day.
I had already taken the written portion to get my permit, but still needed to do the skill test. I dont own a motorcycle and neither do any of my friends in Reno. I end up locking in a bike to borrow the other day and drove a half hour today to pick it up. I rode it around, came inside for fifteen minutes, came back outside and the thing was dead. It is a dual sport and for some stupid reason it doesnt have a kick start for when you leave the key on (which keeps the lights on automatically.)
I tried to push start it down the hill and it is just not happening. Like an idiot, I then try to jump start it with a car. The battery fries. I load it up and take it to the kawi dealer and buy a new battery for fifty bucks. The thing still doesnt work. Something else is fried. I check the fuses and cant find anything wrong. The service department cant help me for another couple days...
At this point, I think Im screwed. The test, that I scheduled weeks ago, is in less than an hour. I go to the Harley dealership to see if I can rent a bike. Obviously, I need a license to rent. Honda said I didn't need the license, but I had to be 25. I remember that one of my brothers friends has a bike. I call him and his tranny is busted. He says his Dad has a bike that I could use. I haul ass over there, hop on it and ride Suzuki across Reno and was only five minutes late. I aced the bitch with perfect score!
I head to New Hampshire tomorrow for bike week!
Now I'm looking at these:
